My paintings are about the relationships objects have with one another. Sometimes these relationships are expected and at other times seem somewhat incongruous. The pairing of humans and birds often appear. An early kinship becoming blurred that creates strange spectacles. Each sharing the others thoughts; the bird, the man.
In other paintings surreal constructions of houses and house shapes allow for play with organic and geometric forms.
Every artist steals or borrows from their predecessors, and I owe thanks, multitudes in fact, to the painter Giorgio de Chirico , whose work first inspired me to look inwards as well as outwards.
