I was born in Wilkesboro, North Carolina . My interest in art appeared early and I was always drawing and making pictures. After high school I won an art scholarship to Reinhardt College in Waleska, Georgia. When my first year of college there had ended I decided to transfer to Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. I entered the art program there and studied under many fine teachers including Eric Purvis and Warren Cameron Dennis. Since graduating from college in 1989 I have continued to pursue making art concentrating mostly on oil painting. I have exhibited works, sold works, and have works in private collections throughout the US and abroad.
